Well, Since I didnt want to fork out over $100 for a set of not realistic
Rudder Pedals and $400 is too much for some nice simulator pedals, I
had to make my own! My Wife and I call it Home Depot
Aviation. Most everything that it took to build them can be
purchased at Home Depot. The linear taper variable resistor
and the Joystick cable were the only two things that had to purchased
elsewhere.
However, I didnt just stop at making the pedals, I also made the throttle
quadrant in a separate box which sits on your desktop. This was wired
back via an old serial cable and a rewired DB9 connector.
This project has undergone 2 major revisions so I pretty much call them
Pedals 3.1 now. Revision 4 of the pedals will be using a USB
joystick
that will be connected to a Flight Console that will fit on the top of the
desk. The current throttle quadrant will be part of this console.
